Cascina San Marchetto, even though not easy to understand its historical origin, and also due to the constant name change over the centuries, should be of the 17th century. The name of Cascina San Marchetto, as well as cascina San Marco, derives from the name of the Church of San Marco al Bosco that is located nearby.
The farm is the head office of James Andena farm based mostly on cereals production and livestock: dairy cattle breeding, and most of the land (90 hectares) is used for rice cultivation.
